The lecture is intended to promote Andalusia and whet the appetite to
visit the country
Andalusia has serveral advantages for the Geminids-oberservation. Its
cheap reachable by Ryan-Air
from different European airports.

For example Prag:

Other advantages are:
-nice
tempertures in
December!
-high moutains
-dark sky
-good weather
-cheap prices
-Touristical Highlights like:
Granada, Jaen, Cartagena, Almeria, Malaga,
Antequera, Nerja, Lorca, Guadix....
-Professional observatorys
-Many Amateur-obsertvatorys
The reason for the good weather are the high mountains:

Wind-shadow on the backside of the Sierra Nevada

Teide and Mulhacén are similar high.
Sierra Filabres and also LaPalma are in the same range.

The light polution is not longer perfect, - but still compareable with
the centre of the alpes:

With ´Astronomy
&
Andalusia´ you will find several
astronomical observatorys at Google:

This
is an Amateur- Observatory near
Gorafe. It was closed because Corona :-(

Andalusia
